Episode #77 explores the cyberpunk classic Hackers. Excuse me, cyberpunk "classic." Excuse me, "cyberpunk" "classic."
I had a lot of fun watching it again. I would assume that most people would, as well. It's a big, silly movie that hasn't aged all that well and creates a kind of befuddlement that I find chamring.
Cruz didn't agree. But what are you going to do? You can't bring a horse to water. But you can shoot that horse and use it to make cat food. Think about that, Cruz, the next time you want to shit on one of my favorite cult movies.
Cruz is not only an enemy of fun, but he is now a de facto enemy of the AV Club. Does his debauchery know no bounds? How does himself in the mirror?
Of course the podcast isn't actually ending, it's becoming A Quality Interruption. And even if you did deeply care for the manic nonsense that was the WGSG show, I have my suspicions that it isn't going to go away entirely.

Episode #76
Episode #76 is live and waiting for you to listen to it!
Cruz and I watched The Serpent in the Rainbow. This episode forced us to take a good long look at the racial dynamics of an old white dude making a movie about a foreign syncretic religion and how exactly Nazi wizards fit into all of this. Despite out best efforts, I think we come up short. Listen, won't you?
One last reminder: We're changing our name to A Quality Interruption. We will be doing so on the 7th of April. Go ahead and follow the Facebook page now and save yourself some heartbreak later.
If you are desperate for more James and Cruz, you can follow James here and Cruz here on the twitter.
HERE'S A PREVIEW OF OUR NEXT EPISODE!

Near Dark Arriveth!
Sorry for being so late on the blog front. I'm still not used to updating this thing.
Episode #75 is out! It's on the excellent, underground vampire flick Near Dark. Even if you hate our asses, do yourself a favor and check this movie out!
Do it!
There's another important fact that I'd like to mention: We are changing the name of the podcast. Which is to say, we are starting a new podcast. It is going to be called A Quality Interruption.
A Quality Interruption will follow the same basic format of one movie to one episode, with maybe a few new ideas thrown in. So, if you like White Guys, Square Glasses, please make sure to make the switch over to A Quality Interruption. We already have a blank Facebook page . Go ahead and follow that so you won't miss any more news on that front.
Other than that please enjoy this awesome vampire movie!

Late to the Party
We've run into a bit of a snag with the editing of our latest episode. My appologies. We should have it out tomorrow. In the mean time, maybe give something else a chance? Something great like The Memory Palace.
It's brilliant podcast that tells a story about some random, profound thing in the world in the span of about ten minutes. You should give it a shot. You won't be sorry for long.

The Battle Royale Podcast
Cruz and I put our heads together and the best thing we could come up with to review was Battle Royale.
Listen to it here. Subscribe to our RSS feed here. Or just subscribe to it on iTunes like a normal person.
You might know the name "Battle Royale" for one of two reasons: 1) You've read an Entertainment Weekly article about The Hunger Games sometime within the past five years or, 2) You were a high schooler who was really into anime and movies where guys do fifty foot long lines of coke and/or cut their own tongue off.
There are no wrong answers here.
In this episode we talk about why this movie works and why other ridiculous gore fests don't. We also probably go off the rails almost immediately.
Also, y'all ever see Gozu? Man. I don't know why, but I love me some Gozu.

About Goddamn Time
Phew. That was a good break.
Here's a preview of the next movie we'll be discussing--
It's called Near Dark and it's fucking awesome. Despite the fact that the Blu-Ray cover is aping Twilight for some reason, you should go and see it. ASAP. It's on Amazon Prime, iTunes, and you can even watch it on You Tube in fourteen parts for some reason. But don't do that. That's what stupid dirtbags do and you're not a stupid dirtbag, are you?
Are you?
You're welcome. It's a heck of a movie.

Wired is One Rad Magazine
And Joachin Kohn is one rad dude.
Because holy crap face transplants.
Kohn himself pioneered a new class of degradable compounds that are now used inside the body to provide controlled drug delivery, as well as for tissue engineering and regenerative processes like bone and nerve repair. And during his leadership of the AFIRM program, scientists under Kohn’s guidance have already completed an array of futuristic therapies to heal wounded soldiers: Among them are the country’s first-ever face transplant; lab-grown ears nearly ready for human transplantation; and an engineered skin substitute that will soon be tested on soldiers with extensive burns.Read more about AFIRM and the radical edge of medical science here at Wired.
